No problems, both slow and rapid fire. Accuracy was acceptable, making it suitable for practice or as a secondary general use ammo choice.

Good inexpensive ammo

I built a "pistol" with an Odin Works 12" barrel, nitride BCG, handguard and Anderson recievers just to shoot this ammo. It is inexpensive, reliable and accurate enough for plinking, tactical practice and just having fun. I believe this ammo would do well for defensive purpose. There is a hollow in the bullet nose. I have read that this causes the bullet to yaw on impact. This read more is very effective against soft targets. It would be great for completion if these range officers would understand that the "bi-metal" jacket is doing no more harm to their steel targets than standard FMJ. I have a private range at my residence and have shot thousands of rounds at A-500 armored plates. Rifle ammo puts a small dimple in the plate but does no more damage after that. Even bi-metal wolf 7.62 and 6.5 ammo. I did managed to crack a plate with a 375 H&H solid. Still did not penetrate. I am going to buy as much of this ammo as I can afford.

Great value for quality range time.

Is this the very best round available? No. That said, managed 2" groups at 300yds with 24" Radical Firearms upper. Bought 500rnds and have shot ~300. Chronograph avg 2678fps @ 26 degrees F. I will buy again.

Great ammo for the price

This is a bi metal jacket, so it won't pass a magnet test. There is a void at the tip that was specifically designed by Alexander Arms. In gel tests, it yaws after 2" into the gel. This looks like it could be a great deer round.

Good Quality Practice and Secondary Ammo

Fired 200 rounds from a self-built 18" barrel, gas piston 6.5 Grendel rifle. No FTE or FTF, all fired/functioned with no problems both slow and rapid fire. Accuracy was acceptable (2" at 125 yards with red dot/magnification optic set at 2x on steel targets), making it suitable for practice or as a secondary general use ammo choice. No testing on bullet performance for game hunting. read more No issues/problems with cleaning-maybe 10-15% dirtier than high quality (Hornady) ammo. Value rating mainly for price vs first quality ammo.

Good value, they worked fine. A little dirty but no negative impact.

6.5 Grendel - 100 gr FMJ - Wolf Military Classic - 500 Rounds Questions and Answers

Asked by Unknown 3 years ago

I'm new to reloading and was wondering can these cases be reloaded?

Unknown 3 years ago

Hi Thomas! You definitely don't want to reload steel shell casings. Unlike brass, steel doesn't return to its original dimensions following ignition. A steel casing also usually has a Berdan primer, which has two flash holes instead of a single, centered

Asked by Unknown 3 years ago

Are these rounds lacquered? I've heard that lacquered Wolf ammunition can gum up AR style semi-auto's. Any truth to that?

Unknown 3 years ago

These rounds are not lacquer coated but instead have a polymer coating to aid in feeding and function. Lacquer rounds do tend to be a bit dirtier and this can cause reliability issues in close tolerance rifles.

Asked by Unknown 3 years ago

What is the muzzle velocity?

Unknown 3 years ago

Wolf Ammunition lists this caliber at 2690 fps.

Asked by Unknown 3 years ago

Will these attract magnets? Not the casing but the bullet.

Unknown 3 years ago

Hello AJ, This ammunition is loaded with a lead core, bi-metal jacketed projectile. Due to the steel content in the jacket, this ammunition will not pass a magnet test.
