Speer makes this 223 Rem cartridge in Lewiston, Idaho for law enforcement officers, but you don’t need a badge to order it. What makes this round most special is its 62 grain Gold Dot soft point bullet. That bullet has an electrochemically bonded jacket. This means the jacket was applied to its alloyed lead core one single molecule at a time, which makes it (A) super balanced for accurate flight, and (B) pretty much inseparable during penetration, ensuring that the Gold Dot bullet retains the momentum it needs to pass through barriers as strong as auto glass and still dig its way deep into a target.
